View the full header of an email
Full headers can help identify who really sent an email, as well as the source of a delayed email. Here's how to view the full header information in Yahoo Mail.
Viewing the full header
Only a brief header is displayed by default.
- Open an email.
- Click More | View Full Header.
- The full header opens.
Differences between brief and full headers
- Brief headers - contain the sender's address, the recipient address(es), the subject, and the time received.
- Full headers - contain detailed information about who sent the email, to whom it was sent, and the route the email traveled on the Internet.
While it's possible for a sender to forge false information in the brief headers, you can obtain the true information from the full headers.
